First off the mark in new CBD

Cutting-edge commercial premise is the first building to emerge in the new Central Business District

THE Sunshine Coast’s new Central Business District is a vision about to be realised with the imminent construction of its landmark commercial building, Foundation Place.

The $30 million dollar cutting-edge commercial premises is the first building to emerge from what will become the new heart of the Sunshine Coast, and is being delivered by experienced and locally-based developers Evans Long.

Evans Long partner Matt Evans said as the Maroochydore City’s first commercial offering, Foundation Place was set to achieve a new level of office accommodation not seen before on the Sunshine Coast.

“In keeping with the ethos of SunCentral, Foundation Place is the first private office building on the Sunshine Coast to sign a commitment agreement to achieve a Five Star Energy rating under the National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS),” Mr Evans said. ”

We’ve signed a NABERS 5.0 energy rating commitment agreement to deliver enhanced sustainability through smart design features and building materials,” he said. Environmentally sustainable features include energy efficient air-conditioning, lighting, solar panels, a green wall, and the smart use of natural light and ventilation. ”

The building will also take advantage of Australia’s first underground automated waste collection system,” Mr Evans said.

Evans Long director Dirk Long said Foundation Place was commanding the attention of Sunshine Coast business owners with the building already 42 per cent committed prior to construction. “I am very pleased at the strong interest we have received from the business community in Foundation Place, and with its impressive list of features it’s no mystery why,” Mr Long said.

“With eight levels overlooking prime CBD parkland, this contemporary and architecturally designed building is perfectly positioned for forward-thinking businesses who desire modern facilities, convenience and to be one of the first to take advantage of the new CBD,” he said.

Foundation Place offers a variety of space options, with ground floor retail and office space available from 80sq m – 3000sq m for sale or lease. On-site car parking, as well as the adjacent 300-space public car park will ensure ease of access for both tenants and their clients.

Secured tenants including a law firm, financial planner and a town planner will keep good company with construction company Evans Built and Evans Long, who have confirmed they will relocate their own head office to Foundation Place.

“We’ve recognised the benefits of being one of the first businesses to secure space in the new CBD, which is set to be one of the most digitally advanced city centres in the country,” Mr Long said. Construction of Foundation Place is due to commence in July 2019 and is expected to be open for business in the first quarter of 2020.
